TE KAHA STADIUM INFRASTRUCTURE PROJECT UPDATE
The Te Kaha Stadium development is one of Canterbury’s most anticipated projects, set to become a major venue and a source of pride for the community. As part of this exciting journey, LB Civil has been honoured to contribute to the infrastructure upgrades surrounding the stadium, which are essential for supporting this new space in the heart of Christchurch.

Scope of Work
In preparation for the stadium, our team focused on upgrading the ‘Three Waters’ infrastructure – the water supply, sewer pipeline, and structure upgrades along Madras Street. LB Civil completed the Madras section of the work 1.5 months ahead of the program by utilising super crews for the water supply and wastewater to create high impact and efficiency within the expected project timeline.
Collaboration and Care for the Community
Throughout the project, we’ve worked closely with Isaac Construction and Lucas Haining’s senior support staff to mitigate any potential risk to stakeholders and the general public. Madras Street is a level 2 road located within the Christchurch CBD, and is frequently used by Christchurch City vehicle or load-over-dimension routes. Our team paid special attention to safety planning to minimise disruptions, allowing Christchurch City to continue its essential traffic flow while construction progressed. Large-scale plant and equipment were carefully managed on site for deep excavations, bypass pumping, and heavy lifting, keeping both our team and the public safe throughout the project.
Looking Ahead
We’re proud to play a role in making the Te Kaha Stadium a reality. Contributing to a project that will benefit the Canterbury community for years to come is immensely rewarding, and we’re grateful to be a part of this journey alongside our partners and stakeholders. As construction continues, we look forward to seeing the final transformation of the Te Kaha Stadium and knowing we had a hand in bringing it to life for Christchurch.
